Mörtnäs lies by the sea on Värmdö in the Stockholm Archipelago. It has great communications and services. The house is located in a granite landscape with one side shielded by a rock wall and the other facing the sea. Its surroundings and proximity to the sea have both influenced the design and choice of materials for this project.

The house is built of light concrete blocks, coated with a light gray plaster. The interior is simple and clean with white stained pine floors and built-in joinery. The living room and kitchen on the upper floor with a ceiling height of 3.2m, and floor to ceiling windows, give a maximum amount of daylight. Large windows with an ocean view add to the sense of space.
